Who
is it for?
This
qualification is aimed at those working with adults in the health
and social care sector at manager, deputy manager or senior team
leader level. It is designed for full- or part-time workers.
Course
content
The
level four qualification contains four mandatory units and four
optional units.

HSC41: Use and develop methods and systems to communicate, record
and report

HSC42: Contribute to the development and maintenance of healthy
and safe practices in the working environment

HSC43: Take responsibility for the continuing professional
development of self and others

HSC45: Develop practices which promote choice, well-being and
protection of individuals
Optional
units

HSC411:
Manage a service which achieves the best possible outcomes for the
individual
·
HSC412:
Ensure individuals and groups are supported appropriately when
experiencing significant life events and transitions

HSC414:
Assess individuals’ needs and preferences
·
HSC415:
Produce, evaluate and amend delivery plans to meet individual
needs and preferences
Course
assessment
Candidates
will be provided with the course materials for the programme. The
learning materials contain the knowledge needed to meet the
assessment requirements for the course, together with activities
to allow candidates to practice their skills and test their
learning.
Candidates
will work through the materials and complete assessments which
will be marked by the tutor/assessor. They will also need to
undertake assessments in the workplace in order to prove their
competence for the vocational elements of the award.
Progression
opportunities
Options
include further level four courses, such as the Registered Manager
Award and other management NVQs, foundation degrees in health and
social care and various opportunities in higher education.
