NVQ Level 4
Health & Social Care

Who is it for?

This qualification is aimed at those working with adults in the health and social care sector at manager, deputy manager or senior team leader level. It is designed for full- or part-time workers.

 

Course content

The level four qualification contains four mandatory units and four optional units.

 

Mandatory units

·          Unit HSC41: Use and develop methods and systems to communicate, record and report

·          Unit HSC42: Contribute to the development and maintenance of healthy and safe practices in the working environment

·          Unit HSC43: Take responsibility for the continuing professional development of self and others

·          Unit HSC45: Develop practices which promote choice, well-being and protection of individuals

 

Optional units

·          HSC411: Manage a service which achieves the best possible outcomes for the individual

·          HSC412: Ensure individuals and groups are supported appropriately when experiencing significant life events and transitions

·          HSC414: Assess individuals’ needs and preferences

·          HSC415: Produce, evaluate and amend delivery plans to meet individual needs and preferences

 

Course assessment

Candidates will be provided with the course materials for the programme. The learning materials contain the knowledge needed to meet the assessment requirements for the course, together with activities to allow candidates to practice their skills and test their learning.

 

Candidates will work through the materials and complete assessments which will be marked by the tutor/assessor. They will also need to undertake assessments in the workplace in order to prove their competence for the vocational elements of the award.

 

Progression opportunities

Options include further level four courses, such as the Registered Manager Award and other management NVQs, foundation degrees in health and social care and various opportunities in higher education.  

Duration
The course is structured over  15 week programme that is delivered by a qualified facilitator in the workplace. Where appropriate it can be completed in a much shorter period.

Dates & Venues
You can join a scheduled course with the Inspired Training Company at a location and time that best suits your needs. Larger groups or companies may wish to host their own course at their premises or another venue at time and location more suitable to their particular needs. As an approved training provider we are able to offer many clients access to national fundiing streams to assist with or even fully meet any fees due. Funding streams are normally time limited and can be dependent on location.
