Who is it for?

This qualification is intended for people who work in – or wish to work in – a range of occupations where high standards of cleanliness and good practice in general hygiene are important. Infection control involves understanding what infection is and how it occurs so that we can avoid it, overcome it and stop it spreading.

Course content

The course consists of two units covering:

• Introducing Infection Control
• Practicing Infection Control

Progression opportunities

On completion of this programme candidates may progress to Level 2 Infection Control. Alternatively there is a wide range of industry-specific NVQs and other vocational qualifications that include aspects of infection control. For example, candidates could progress on to NVQs in Care, Cleaning, Food Preparation, or Food and Beverage Service.

Duration
The course is structured over  15 week programme that is delivered by a qualified facilitator in the workplace. Where appropriate it can be completed in a much shorter period.

Dates & Venues
You can join a scheduled course with the Inspired Training Company at a location and time that best suits your needs. Larger groups or companies may wish to host their own course at their premises or another venue at time and location more suitable to their particular needs.
