The Level 2 BTEC Award in security operations has been
designed to meet the training needs of security guards who
are employed by large and small companies and operators in
the security guarding sector. The Level 2 BTEC Award in
security operations is designed to provide:
- A framework of education and
training for those in the security guarding sector
- Opportunities for personnel in the
security guarding sector to achieve a nationally recognised
level 2 qualification that is vocationally specific
- The knowledge, understanding and
skills learners need to apply for a licence to
practice
- Opportunities for learners to
develop a range of skills and techniques, personal
qualities and attitudes essential for successful
performance in working life
Learning
Objectives
- To explain the roles and
responsibilities of the security officer
- To understand the legal requirements
of a security officer
- To explain the systems of work that
effect the security officer
- To understand the systems when
dealing with patrolling, to carry out this knowledge
in a practical scenario
- To be able to carry out a properly
designed scenario in searching, and to explain the
legal framework in searching
- To explain the arrest procedures
within the security industry, be able to understand
and participate in practical arrest procedures
- Understand the Health & Safety
implications in the security industry
- To understand the communication
methods of the security industry
- To explain the importance of
completing documentation accurately
- To understand Conflict Management
for security operatives
- Understand human responses to
emotional and threatening situations
- Resolve conflict via strategies,
using empathy and problem solving
Progression
On
successful completion of this training course, each
candidate will receive an Edexcel- BTEC accredited
certification allowing them to be licenced through the SIA
to practice.
Duration
A four day training course, which includes
two exams (one on day three and one on day four) the four
day training course is run over four eight hour days.
Evening and weekend courses are also available.

You
can join a scheduled course with Inspired Training at a location
and time that best suits your needs. Larger groups or
companies may wish to host their own course at their
premises or another venue at time and location more

As
an approved training provider we are able to offer many
clients access to national fundiing streams to assist
with, or even fully meet any fees due. Funding streams are
normally time limited and can be dependent on location.
